Ehara taku toa I te toa takitahi, engari he toa takitini

My successes are not of my doing alone, but by the efforts of many.

This modern Tukutuku panel reflects the whakatauki "Ehara Taku Toa I Te Toa Takitahi, Engari He Toa Takitini"

Depicted in the centre by the white and black Pātiki / Flounder, is the Individual Leader portraying their successes, which also reflects unity and co-operation within the groups or tribes, leading into the depiction of the golden crosses surrounding the leader, the people supporting them on their journey, portraying the efforts of many.
