Don't die like the Octopus, die like the Hammerhead Shark.

This Modern Tukutuku Panel is based on the above Whakatauki / Proverb.

It is a sign to face life’s challenges with resilience, urging you to fight until the very end instead of surrendering easily.

Depicting the Resilience and Power of a Hammerhead Shark, it shows Courage, Strength and a Fighting Spirit to swim forward, even though being injured. 

Below the Ururoa, is the Wheke /Octopus, who are known for their lack of resistance when caught by a predator, and giving up easily. 

The Wheke is depicted by this surrendered stance, wallowing on the seabed, acknowledging the simple defeat.
